Mrs. Theys

Hello 4th Graders and Families, 

My name is Mrs. Theys and I am so excited to be working with all of you this year. Just a little bit about me; I graduated from Penn State University in 2013, with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I moved to this area in 2014 and was a long-term substitute in 4th grade at Middletown. I married my husband in 2018 and we will be welcoming a baby BOY into our family in May 2020. I have been teaching at South Mountain for 5 years now! I have taught both 4th and 5th grade but am happy to be back in 4th! I look forward to working with all fo you this year. 

You may also find me at the Northern Football games as I am the Varsity Head Cheerleading coach for the NHS cheerleaders. I look forward to seeing you at the football and basketball games. GO BEARS!

  • Behavior Plan

    • For our school wide behavior plan, the students at SME follow these 4 main rules:

       
      1. I will show respect to my peers.
       
      2. I will show respect to adults.
       
      3. I will show respect for school rules.
       
      4. I will show respect for others' property and for my school.
       
       
      Class Dojo- 
       
      This year we will be using Class Dojo and the House System (similar to Harry Potter Houses) as a way to track our behavior. Students can earn points for positive behaviors and lose points for negative behaviors. Students will be sorted into one of four houses- Quantum- house of RESPECT, Amicita- house of FRIENDSHIP, Animo- house of COURAGE, or Honestus- house of HONESTY. Students will be working collectively as a house to earn points. At the end of the marking period, the house with the most points will be awarded a party.
