About Mrs. Hammock

  • Hello there! My name is Mrs. Hammock and I am really looking forward to our school year! 

    I have three children of my own, Nathan is 15 and is in 10th grade, Colin is 11 and in 6th grade, and Alex will be four in February. We live in Dover and are very involved in sports! My husband is a General Manager for a company called Sodexo. 
    I LOVE sports. I am a huge Ravens fan. I am from Baltimore, so I come by this naturally. :)  Since both of my boys play baseball, we are avid Orioles watchers.
    As I said, I am from a small town outside of Baltimore called Perry Hall. I graduated from High School and attended University of Baltimore where I received a degree in Criminal Justice. 
    After I worked in the Criminal Justice field for awhile, I decided to stay home with my children. I went back to school to get my Master's in Elementary Education while working at Bob Hoffman YMCA preschool. I graduated from University of Phoenix in May 2011. I worked for two years as a Behavioral Specialist in York County, so I had the opportunity to see many different teaching styles! I also worked part-time for United Way where I was a part of the Ready Freddy Program in Northern School District. As I like to say, the rest is history! 
     
    I taught in 4th grade at DES for three years and am starting my 4th year in 5th grade at DES. I currently teach Math, Science, and Writing. 
     
    I look forward to being a part of your life. Your education and well-being is very important to me! I cannot wait to start our journey together!
