We're back in the art room! How exciting?! Here's an insight into what each grade level will focus on...
K: An introduction to the visual arts with an emphasis on play and experimentation. We will try a lot of new material and focus on different textures that come from both implied and literal mark making.
1: Lessons will highlight a mix of explorative art making and art history. We will use a wide variety of materials that are complimentary to art history.
2: Lessons will be based on the chronological order of art history. We will explore different art movements and mediums just like many famous artists did!
3: Our theme will be imagination. Projects will allow students a lot of creative freedom to develop their artistic skills and add a personal twist.
4: Lessons will follow a chronological order of art history. We will dive deeper into the cultural implications and highlight the techniques used in each time period.
5: Students will use their visual art skills to begin diving into more individual projects. They will be provided a prompt and have to use their creative problem solving skills to create a unique project.
