Hello, my name is Mrs. Lisa Hoover and this is my fourth year teaching fourth grade at Dillsburg Elementary; my eighth year teaching overall. Prior to teaching at Dillsburg Elementary I taught in the Elizabethtown Area School District and Mechanicsburg Area School District. From these districts I gained experience teaching fifth and second grade; both of which have been positive influences in shaping who I am as a fourth grade teacher today for Dillsburg Elementary.
I am an alumni of Northern York County School District, spending my years of k-12 education as a proud polar bear! I'm thankful to be back home, proudly sporting my purple and white! My husband, Chad, also a Northern alumni, is happy as well, as he can finally wear his purple and white once again too!
I graduated from Shippensburg University in the Spring of 2012, with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. In the last several years, I have been attending Millersville University with the goal of completing my Masters Degree in Language and Literacy. When I am not teaching, or working on graduate study work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and dog, Bandit. We take long walks in the evenings, and I spent many days soaking in the sun of the summer by our pool! I also enjoy sitting down with a good book, sometimes forgetting the world around me for several hours, while I enjoy the literature in front of me. Of all of my favorite things to do, spending time with our families is the most important in our lives. We spent many hours and days this summer in one another's company, and the six dogs we have between all of us!
