Homework and Grading

  • Third graders do not receive letter grades.
On their report cards, there will be a number from
1 to 4 indicating their current level with specific skills.
If there is a serious problem, I will contact you personally in order to get your child back on track.

Please understand that a 3 is GRADE LEVEL performance.

1 indicates a need for help with the concept and cannot do it at all.
2 indicates that the concept was mastered with teacher help.
3 indicates that the student mastered the concept.
4 indicates that the student has mastered the concept and has excelled beyond grade level.

DAILY homework for EVERY student is to pratice math facts for 15 minutes and read for 15 minutes at their level.

Practice can be online!  See the district site for great online tools.

THIS DOES NOT APPLY FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR!

Remember to sign your child's assignment book  AND purple folder DAILY!  Inside the folder you will find important information, returned work, or additional homework.  The planner will also reflect how your child's conduct was for the day.  Children will be earning B-bucks and points from the planner to be part of our marking period rewards!
