About Mrs. Foster - A little note about me...
-
I graduated from Eastern College (now Eastern University) in 1990. I earned a dual degree in Elementary Education and Youth Ministry with a minor in Psychology. I enjoy teaching for Northern York County School District. I have worked for the district for 24 years. While working at Northern I enrolled in University of Connecticut's Master's program. In 2006 I finished the requirements for a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in gifted education.
For 22 years I have been the SIP teacher. I travel to all 4 elementary schools. It keeps me busy, but I enjoy having interaction with many students and all the elementary teachers.
I am married to a pretty special guy, Dr. David Foster. He teaches Biology at Messiah University. He really enjoys Science. Together he and I teach Envirothon at South Mountain Elementary. This year marks our 23rd year to be involved with Envirothon. We have had some really great teams. We are very pleased when our team members continue Envirothon into middle and high school. We have been doing Envirothon long enough to see some of our students choose professions that involve things they learned from Envirothon. We have had several students that have chosen to go to Messiah University. Northern has had many teams do very well over the years.
David and I are the proud parents of two adult children Danika and Jonathan. Like you we were proud Polar Bear parents. Both of our children graduated from Northern. Go Bears! Our time began at Northern with Danika in first grade and Jon in kindergarten. They have both graduated from college, Danika from Messiah College and Jon from Rochester Institute of Technology. Danika works as a resource cordinator for a pediatric firm in Arizona and Jonathan works as a fuel tec in Antarctica. Our family has had many happy memories in Washington state, Arizona and at Philmont Scout Ranch, a Scouting High Adventure Camp in New Mexico. Philmont is a special place for our family Danika and Jon spent summers working at Philmont. David asked me to marry him at Philmont. Danika met her husband at Philmont. It is a magical place of special memories. Our happiest joy is our granddaughter. She is so much like her mom, a truly happy little girl!
We are the proud puppy grandparents of Cimarron and Taos and parents of Tolby and Punkin (camera shy).
