2020 Mini-THON Info Sheet

    Get Up and Glow

    Purpose

    ¨       NMS Mini-THON supports Four Diamonds, an organization that works to conquer childhood cancer.  All of the money raised goes towards supporting families affected by childhood cancer and funding cancer research.

    ¨       Penn State University hosts an annual 46 hour dance marathon, known as THON.  Our Mini-THON is an extension of that event.

    ¨       NMS students who participate in our Mini-THON will have to remain standing for the seven hours of the event.

     

    Mini-THON Activities

    ¨       Grade versus Grade, Staff versus Grade Tug O’ War

    ¨       Northern’s Got Talent Show

    ¨       Dinner, Drinks, Snacks, and Crafts

    ¨       Inflatable Obstacle Course

    -       GaGa Pit

    -       9 Square in the Air

    -       ZUMBA

    ¨       Luminary Walk & the Ultimate Dance Party

    ¨       Reveal with inspiring Four Diamond Families

    -        AND MORE!

     

    Donations

    ¨       EACH student must raise AT LEAST $ 30.00. 

    ¨       Money turned in to the middle school and money raised on-line will count towards the participant’s total.

    ¨       Top earning students and teams will win VIP privileges during Mini-THON.

    ¨       If the participant knows of a business that would like to donate, that amount will go towards his/her total.

    ¨       The participants who raise the most money in each grade will be honored during the Mini-THON.

    ¨       If unable to attend the event, Mini-THON will graciously accept any donations on that student’s behalf.

     

    Forms

    ¨       All forms must be completed in order to attend.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

    ¨       All paperwork and initial money must be handed in to your home room teacher by TBD; however you can turn in paperwork and money up until the day of Mini-THON.

    ¨       Money raised after due date WILL count towards your total.  All money needs to be handed in prior to the start of Mini-THON.

     

    Teams

    ¨       During certain portions of the event, you will be working in teams.

    ¨       Teams that collectively raise more money will be given VIP privileges during Mini-THON.

    ¨       Students who sign up individually will be placed together on a team.

    -        A team CAN be more than four students in size.
