Textbook – Discovering our Past: A History of the World
Materials Needed-- Textbook, pencil, notebook/folder
Course Descriptions/Objectives
HISTORY is always changing yet it repeats itself. It is a continuous story about you, me, and us. Everything happens for a reason. The events that happen today are dictated by what happened in the past. We are going to take a ride through our history. Throughout the year we will compare and contrast what we are studying to what happens today and why. We will investigate why events of today and the past are important to you. We also think about what might have been. So, buckle up and get ready for the ride of your life!
Throughout the school year we will indulge ourselves in a variety of exercises and projects. This class is intended to teach young adults the value of Western Civilization. This class is also intended to enable students to become active, productive, and responsible citizens. We will attempt to achieve this by engaging in many discussions and relating to current events. Students will be able to critically discuss and comprehend the many facets, events, places, and people that have made the world what it is today. Students will be able to critique decisions that were made (past and present), and look to the future and what it holds for us.
