Grading Policies

Art follows the grading principles of Northern Middle School.

       Grades are based on a variety of school work, such as class preparedness, quizzes, tests, homework, and projects.  Art is a one marking period course. The grading system is as follows:

          93-100%      A       Excellent progress

          85-92%       B        Good progress

          77-84%       C        Satisfactory progress

          70-76%       D       Minimum progress

          Below 70%   F        Unsatisfactory progress

Homework Policy

Homework assignments are usually sketches to be done in preparation for the final

project.   Sometimes you may also be asked to look for a picture at home or bring

in an object from home to draw.  Not doing homework wastes valuable class time.

Students will loose points on their project if they do not complete the homework

when it is assigned.
