A Little About Me:

Hello! My name is Kyle Polinka and I am the 8 Purple Physical Science Teacher. I was born and raised in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 2012, then went on to further my education at Messiah College. At Messiah, I was an History with Secondary Certification 7-12 Major. Within the education program at Messiah, I had many field placements in various school districts, such as: Marshall Middle School in the Harrisburg School District, Crossroads Middle School in the West Shore School District, Central Dauphin Middle School in the Central Dauphin School District, and then finally student teaching right here at Northern Middle School on the 7 White team. Following my college graduation, I became a building sub here at NMS for two years. I also completed a Long Term Sub placement at Mechanicsburg Middle School in 8th grade. Six years ago I decided to go back and take the certification exams to become Middle Level Science Certified, which has brought us to how I am starting my sixth year teaching here on the 8 Purple team!! During my first few years of teaching, I pulled double duty and worked towards my Masters of Education in Instructional Media from Wilkes University in 2021 and received my STEM K-12 certification along with that. Finally, over the past nine years, I have also been one of the NMS Boys Soccer Coaches!!
