About Me

  • I am excited to work with Northern Middle School sixth graders again this year. I enjoy helping students to learn and grow. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about topics from class and to teach you about enrichment math topics if you are curious and want to learn more.

I have a degree from Messiah College in elementary education with a math minor. My master's degree is in gifted education from Millersville University and included various math electives. I have taken other courses related to teaching from Penn State Harrisburg, Marywood University, and University of Pennsylvania.

I have worked at Northern Middle School since 2017, teaching math in various grades and working as the math interventionist. Prior to coming to Northern, I taught in the Cumberland Valley School District. For ten years, I was a sixth grade math teacher there. Before that, I taught pre-algebra and algebra, interdisciplinary classes to gifted support students, and accelerated math classes to elementary school students.

My two children, Levi and Annika, are graduates of Northern Middle School. Annika graduated from NHS in 2020. She enjoys baking and watching anime.  She is currently studying computer science at Messiah University. Levi graduated from Penn College in Williamsport and works as a controls engineer. He enjoys running, hiking, and working on his motorcycle. My husband works with technology at Messiah University and is a local volunteer firefighter.

We enjoy the outdoors (camping, hiking, kayaking, etc.), gardening, and spending time with friends and family.
