Grading Policy

  • Our math class follows the school's grading scale, which is shown below:

    93-100 = A (excellent progress)

    85-92 = B (above average progress)

    77 – 84 = C (average progress)

    70 – 76 = D (below average progress)

    Below 70 = F (failing)

Students must earn at least a 70% to pass math class for the year. Students who are failing classes may be unable to participate in extracurricular activities for a period of time. If you have concerns about your grade, please see Mrs. Pomeroy for help.

We also follow NMS's policy with regard to late homework. Assignments submitted late will earn no more than an 80%. Partial credit is available until the end of the marking period or until the deadline indicated by your teacher.

Students who are absent from school are responsible for making up missed work. Students who have received excused absences should turn in missing work to the assigning teacher within a reasonable amount of time, usually not exceeding double the amount of time absent.

Grades are calculated by taking total points earned divided by total points possible. We recommend that you check your grades regularly in Sapphire.
