OTHER IMPORTANT INFO: 

Assignment books - Each student will receive an assignment book on the first day.  I ask that you read over your child's assignments daily and initial the assignment book daily.  This is a great source of communication for all of us.  Not only are homework assignments and test dates recorded in the assignment books but also other important information may be stapled into the assignment book for you to read.  Feel free to write any comments or questions for me as well.

Water bottles - Your child is permitted to bring a water bottle to homeroom.  I have bins where the water bottles will be kept.  The water bottle needs to be labeled with your child's name.  I ask that each child remove his or her bottle daily to clean at home and replace with fresh water.  Especially during the first weeks of school, the weather is still quite warm and water bottles are helpful for after recess.

Birthdays - If you would like us to celebrate your child's birthday here at school, we will. Please just email or send a note in advance and I can set it up for you.  If you send in a treat, please provide napkins and/or paper plates.  If utensils are required, please send those as well.

Contact Info - It is best to contact me via email.  My email address is khicks@nycsd.k12.pa.us.  However, if you are emailing me about a last minute parent pick up request or different end of day transportation arrangements, you need to contact the office.  I do my best to check my emails periodically, but there's a chance I could not read the email in time.  If there's any change in transportation, the office must be contacted.
