Tips for Success

I encourage students to be proactive about their education. The following tips are helpful:

  • Always use your agenda book
  • Refer to Schoology for assignments and to message your teachers.
  • Check your grades at least twice a week on Sapphire.
  • Stay for Homework Club if needed.
  • Use your time wisely.
  • Stay organized. Clean out your locker, binders, and folders once a week.
  • Have a clean, quiet place to work at home.
  • Stick to a routine. Structure your time after school so you can do homework, eat dinner, do chores, take a break, and have some time for yourself.
  • Prioritize tasks, especially schoolwork. Look at due dates and do the things that are due sooner first.
  • Study for tests a little bit each night rather than cramming the night before. Using highlighters, different colored pens, and flashcards help information stick!
  • Know what kind of learner you are: audio, visual, or kinesthetic (hands-on). Study in ways that match your learning style.
