Music Lab-2

            Music Lab II is a continuation of the musical concepts studied in Music Lab-I.  Students will be exposed to more challenging repertoire via keyboard instruction, and become more knowledgeable about music in general.
     
     
    Special Days:  
    Mondays - Listening Journals - The class will listen to examples of different styles of music and journal about the experience.  
     
    Drumming Day - once a cycle, day to be determined.   
     
     

    Materials Needed:  Just a pencil, eraser and their chromebook (provided by the school.)

     

    Class Guidelines:   In addition to the school policies outlined in your agenda, please adhere to the following during every class.

    1. Follow directions the first time they are given.
    2. Raise your hand and wait to be recognized before speaking.
    3. Respect and maintain your own personal space; do not distract others.
      1. Do not touch the keyboard or headset unless instructed by a teacher
      2. Please stay on your side of the keyboard
      3. All books, pencils, devices, etc.  Should be stored away from the keyboard area.

    Grading Practice:  

    1. 45% Participation: This includes class discussions, daily class work, preparedness and behavior.
    2. 5% Homework: Assignments you may begin in class and finish at home.
    3. 20% Music Journal: This is an online document saved on our Google Drive and shared with your music teacher.
    4. 30% Quizzes, Tests and Projects.
    5. Late Policy: 1 day = 80%; 2 days = 50%; 3+ days = ZERO

     

    Resources:  

    1. Google Classroom - students will be given a code to access google classroom which they can sign into from any online device.  

     

     

    Project: At the end of the marking period, students will choose a project to show what they have learned during music lab.  This will involve research, production and presentation.  More information will included in Google Classroom when project is assigned.
