Meet Miss Wagner
-
Hello! My name is Meredith Wagner and this is my second year teaching first grade at Northern Elementary! I taught first grade for two years before that in the Tuscarora School District, which was my hometown and where I graduated high school from. So, I am very excited to be here now as a Polar Bear in the Northern York County School District! If you attend any sports events in the district, you may see me, as I am also coaching the high school cheerleaders, go Bears! I am very energetic and passionate about learning, my goal every day is to help your child grow and succeed while fostering a love for learning. Some extra things about me... I am a Pittsburgh fan for everything and the kids will learn that quickly. I love the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates! I enjoy running, kayaking, attending sporting events, concerts, reading, and most importantly spending time with my friends and my family.
I come from a family of teachers, I am a fourth generation teacher in my family and I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2015 majoring in early childhood education. I am currently working towards my Master's Degree at Shippensburg University and will be graduating with that this coming spring. I am in a Master's of Reading program working towards a Reading Specialist certificate.
I love teaching first grade - I love seeing the students come so far throughout the year! Your child will grow so much in their reading, writing, and math skills. It is such a fun thing to watch! I am looking forward to a new school year, building a relationship with your child, as well as involving you in their learning!
