WELCOME!

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! This will be my sixth year teaching 3^rd grade at NES. As a teacher, it is my goal to help your child become a confident learner. I assure you, I will do my best to make this year a positive experience! On this webpage you will find various resources to help guide you throughout the school year. However, please be aware that I primarily use Seesaw as both a communication and digital student portolfio tool. Reminders, announcements, and student work will be shared through Seesaw. Lastly, please refer to your learner's student planner for important reminders.

Many students love back-to-school shopping! Students are welcome to bring in their own supplies; however, our classroom will have supplies available for your child throughout the school year. Each child will be given a purple NES folder, a student planner, a folder and/or notebook for each subject, a writing binder, and a reading binder. Your child should have his/her own school bag. In addition, please no personal student pencil sharpeners. Classroom donations such as tissues, stickers, birthday pencils, etc. are always greatly appreciated!

In our classroom we have flexible seating. What does that mean? It means we do not have the traditional personal student desks or layout. Instead, we have various seating options to foster a more comfortable, diverse learning environment. Various studies support this style learning environment to support diverse learner needs. This environment includes fidgets, seat pillows, oodles, and more! So, any peronsal pencil boxes will be kept in your learner's mailbox.
