Meet Mrs. Snyder

  • Introduction

    Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Snyder and I have been teaching third grade since the 2014-2015 school year. My role as a teacher is to ensure that each and every student has his/her opportunity to thrive both in and outside the classroom. My goal is to motivate students to work to their fullest potential so that they may think critically and always be curious of the world around them. Will there be challenges along the way? Yes, that's what makes it worthwhile! Will there be mistakes most likely made? Of course! Mistakes are proof that learning is happening. I believe that with help from teachers, mentors, and YOU great things can and will be done in room 103!

    Background Information

I was born in Baltimore, Maryland. However, I spent most of my childhood living in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. I ventured to West Chester University to study Early Childhood Education. I also took the challenge to pursue a minor in both Reading and Communications.

In the fall of 2013, I student taught in a 3rd grade classroom in the West Shore Area School District. I then graduated from West Chester University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a dual minor in Reading and Communications. Immediately following graduation, I started my career as a long-term substitute in a 4th grade classroom. It was truly an incredible experience!

I am currently in Penn State's Teaching and Curriculum (Language Arts) master's program. I anticipate to graduate this December. My personal goal is to never cease my own pedagogical discoveries in efforts to put forth best teaching practices.
