    Course Description

    This year-long, one credit course continues an American Studies sequential program presented in 7th and 8th grade Middle School. It is designed to give students an overview of American History from World War I to the present. Our course is designed to investigate vital historical themes from the 1910s to the present. Students will consistently draw upon modern American and World events as well, in order to develop an understanding of America’s role in today’s world. We need to gain an understanding and respect of our past in order to develop a concern for our future. Hopefully by taking this course you will understand the values and traditions that have shaped our country into what it is today.

     About the Teacher

     

    I have been a Social Studeis teacher here at Northern for 16 years. I have taught Numerous subjects but have been teaching U.S. History for the past 3 years. I graduated from Mechanicsburg Senior High School in 1990 and attended the Pennsylvania State University graduating with a Bachelor degree in Secondary Education - Social Studies. I also have an associate degree in Police Science. I have been married for 20 years and have three wonderful children that attend Bermudian Springs School District. I enjoy old cars, hiking, and biking with my family.
