• Earth and Space Science investigates processes that operate on Earth and also addresses Earth’s place in the solar system and the galaxy. Earth and Space Science involves phenomena that ranges in scale from the unimaginably large to the invisibly small. This course is comprised of the following three main areas of study:

    • Plate Tectonics and the Deformation of the Crust

    2. Astronomy (Exosphere)

    • Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) and Telescopes

    • Planetary Motion and the Earth/Sun/Moon System

    • The Moon

    • The Sun

    • Stars and the Universe

    3. Meteorology (Atmosphere and Hydrosphere)

    • The Atmosphere

    • Water in the Atmosphere

    • Air Masses and Fronts

    • Climate
