This yearlong introductory course is designed for students with a desire to develop art skills and knowledge.  Emphasis is placed on art history, aesthetics, criticism, art vocabulary and production, observational skills, analytical thought, establishing good studio habits, problem solving, and safety.   Through a wide variety of media, the course encompasses drawing, two dimensional design, printmaking, and painting.
