Alternative Education

  •   Alternative Instruction Program

    Description:

A student may be assigned to an alternative program who violates school board Policy 22, who poses a clear threat to the

safety and welfare of other students or the school staff, who creates an unsafe school

environment, or whose behavior materially interferes with the learning of other students

or disrupts the overall educational process.  Alternative education assignments can be

within the district or outside placements.

The goal of the Alternative Education program is to help students improve their academic,

social and behavioral skills so they can be transitioned back into the regular classroom

setting.  Every 45 days students are re-evaluated to see what improvements where made in

    these 3 skills.
