Mrs. Laura Bissell has been teaching at Northern High School since 1999. This year marks the beginning of her 24th year at Northern!!  She is a graduate of Mansfield University, where she met her husband of 26 years, Paul.  Together, they have three sons:  Adam, who is a 2016 Northern graduate; Jordan, a 2019 graduate of Northern High School; and Joshua, a senior at Northern High School who enjoys music (wind ensemble, chorus and musicals) and sports (especially volleyball).  In addition to directing/teaching Mixed Chorus, Beginner Piano and Beginner Guitar, Mrs. Bissell is also the Director of the High School Musicals and the Bear Singers.  Mrs. Bissell enjoys singing, watching movies, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  Her favorite places to visit are Topsail Island and Surf City, NC but recently visited Adam in Las Vegas, NV; and the endless mountains of PA. During the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, Mrs. Bissell joined The Stay at Home Choir, a virtual choir community based out of London, England; she participated in Eric Whitacre's V6 Virtual Choir - "Sing Gently"; and also a few church related virtual choirs. She has continued participating in virtual choirs this past year and has now reached over 30 projects that are on YouTube.
