National Anthem Project

  • National Anthem Project--

Chorus students may audition to be a National Anthem Singer at home sporting events at Northern High School.  Please see Mrs. Bissell for more information about this project.

Below are instructions to follow once you have been selected to participate in this project and are scheduled to sing at a game/event.

    • It is your responsibility to check dates/times with The Weekly Calendar of Events posted on the bulletin board.  If a game is postponed, you will be expected to perform on that new date/time.
    •  You must have a device to record or play your starting note and/or the keynote of the key you are singing in.  This is information YOU need to know.  You may use your smart phone or an iPod to download an app or make a recording.  DO NOT randomly choose a starting pitch.
    •  New individuals/groups MUST practice with a microphone BEFORE you sing at a game.  These arrangements must be made prior to the day of the game. Make these arrangements through Mrs. Bissell.
    •  If you have already rehearsed with a microphone at one location, you will not need to rehearse with a mic again (unless you feel it necessary—we’ll try to arrange it).

Mr. Schwille, Mr. Wilson and many others have commented on the wonderful job students have done with this project in the past.  We are NORTHERN PROUD to participate in this project.  We have heard many positive comments from spectators, coaches and students.  You are doing a fantastic job of bringing the musicians and athletes of our school together. Being in the NAP has opened doors for students to sing at PIAA Championship events and experiences beyond High School.

Congratulations and Good Luck with future performances of our National Anthem!!!
