Dual enrollment allows high school students to take college classes while they are still enrolled in high school.
These classes count for both high school and college credit.
While there is a cost for Dual Enrollment courses, these costs are substantially less than the cost for the credits after a student graduates from high school.
Students take dual enrollment classes through local colleges. They may go to campus or take the class online. The major of Northern students take classes through Delaware Valley, Harrisburg Area Community College, Harrisburg University, and Messiah University.

-
Select "Dual Enrollment" as the program of study
-
Include school counselor email address when completing the signature page. A copy of your high school transcript will be sent to HACC by your school counselor. Your application will not be considered completed until HACC receives these documents.
-
Wait for your acceptance email. After the application and all required documents are submitted, you will receive an acceptance email within three to five business days.
-
Activate your HACC student account when your acceptance email is received
-
You will need your HACC student ID, which is included in your acceptance email.
-
After you activate your HACC student account (myHACC), you will activate your student email (HAWKmail).
-
If you have questions about the admissions process, please contact your assigned admissions counselor or email start@hacc.edu.
Step 2: Complete placement testing, if required
-
Placement testing, high school grades and/or SAT, ACT or PSAT scores help determine your eligibility to enroll in certain classes. Details about placement testing, including exemptions, are available on HACC’s website.
-
Links to complete placement testing will be sent to your HACC student email (HAWKmail). If you have not received the links to complete placement testing, please contact orientation@hacc.edu.
Step 3: Review placement testing results and register for class
