Palmyra

  • Today we traveled to Palmyra to take on the AAA Cougars.  We did our best, despite being hampered by a significant amount of illness making its way throughout our school and team.

Palmyra prevailed in both meets, with the girls defeating ours 106-64 and their boys coming away with a 127-43 victory.

We had 14 Career Best Times and 3 Career First times today.

Among what I will remember from the meet is....Raina and Luke having the courage and determination to take on and complete the 100 Butterfly and Brady the 500 Free for the very first time and our team cheering for swimmers they've never met from non-swim schools when they were competing in extra heats.

When the meet was over I was talking with the Palmyra Head Coach and a number of the Palmyra captains came up to me and said, "We LOVE your team!  They are such nice people.  You're our favorite team to compete against."  Comments like that warm my heart and make me SO proud.

It's hard to believe we wrap up our regular season with our final dual meet next Tuesday against our fellow Colonial Division members, the Boiling Springs Bubblers.  We'll be taking time during the meet to honor our thirteen graduating seniors.

"Goodness is about character, integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage and the like.  More than anything else, it is about how we treat other people."
