Boiling Springs

  • It seems like we were just setting up for our December 3rd scrimmage against Wyoming Seminary and now our 2016-17 dual meet season is in the books.

In terms of our final meet against our Colonial Division counterpart, the Bubblers of Boiling Springs, we had some very solid performances for this time of year, with 19 Career Best Times and 6 In-Season Best Times.  The very strong Boiling Springs Boys Team came away with a 122-63 win, while our Girls Team popped their team's bubbles 120-65.

Our final dual meet records for the 2016-17 season will go in the books as...

    * Girls Team:  Overall 6-6 and 5-1* in the Colonial Division (Our final division standing will be determined by the outcome of the Shippensburg-Big Spring girls meet next Tuesday, January 31st.  If Big Spring can find a way to defeat Ship, our Girls Team will share the Division Championship with the Greyhounds.)

    * Boys Team: Overall 5-7 and 3-3 in the Colonial Division (We achieved our Team Goal of winning more division meets than last year!)

We now prepare for the post-season.  The divers will be working with Coach Finkey over the next few days to determine if they're able to put together an eleven dive routine for Mid Penns.  Good luck with that Kate, Ross and Brady.  Please know how great it was to have you on the board during our dual meets!

Throughout these past two plus months, as we prepared for competition and were put to the test by some of the best teams in Central Pennsylvania, the one thing that was constant was a positive, supportive, respectful atmosphere.  Athletes, coaches, parents and the Athletic Department all worked extremely hard together, seeking excellence in everything we did.  This season has had the feeling of being part of a "family".  For that I am extremely grateful and I hope you are too.

"Family isn't always blood.  It's the people in life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are.  The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what."  ~  Anonymous

Thank you, everyone, for a wonderful regular season.

Now, we have to redouble our efforts in the pool each and every day.  More than ever, we must get/stay as healthy as possible, make attending practice a priority and complete it with a purpose.  We need to diligently hydrate well, eat healthy food, get as much rest as possible and be positive with ourselves and our teammates, visualizing a successful post-season...one filled with BIG dreams!
