WOW! What a great meet we had yesterday against the Bubblers!
Check
this out.....Fifty (50) Career Best Times, Ten (10) Career First Times
or Scores and Three (3) In-Season Best Times (meaning the fastest a
person has ever swum during the regular season)!
The
Boys Team took the very strong Boiling Springs team to task, coming
away on the short end of the 120-65 score. We continue to have some
things we need to work on, but our young men should feel nothing but
good after that outstanding performance. The Boys Team record now
stands at 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the Colonial Division. I had a former
Boiling Springs coach approach me after the meet to say how strong our
boys team looked for having so many new athletes and how much potential
he sees in us. I agree!
And the Girls Team,
despite swimming some new events for this season, exceeded my
expectations, winning by a convincing 112-74. The Girls Team moved to
2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Division. You made quite an opening
statement to the rest of the Colonial Division.
And
I can't say enough about our divers!!! I know you would agree Brady,
Kolby and Maddie did a fantastic job for their very first meet! It's
clear they've been working extremely hard and that work paid off
yesterday. Each of them contributed important points to our team
score. I want to say a special "Thank You" to Coach Finkey for the work
she's done with our divers to get them ready for competition in four weeks.
Remember....they stepped on the diving board for the first time on
November 16th. Incredible! For each of them to have six dives ready in
that short amount of time is a testament to Coach Finkey's proven
coaching/teaching abilities and our divers' courage and determination.
Well done.
I also want to thank our Assistant
Swimming Coaches - Diane, Elli and Jen - for everything you do to help
make our program what it is. The success we're experiencing is the
result of your commitment to our swimmers and your challenging them,
every day, to put forth their very best effort!
I'm excited about where we are this early in the season. We need to continue to work hard and smart and practice with a purpose each and every day, during every yard and every dive.
More
than one person from the Boiling Springs staff went out of their way
yesterday to say how very much they like to compete against us because
you - athletes - always conduct yourselves in such a positive,
respectful manner.
