Team...despite a number of our athletes battling illness, we delivered
some solid results against our Colonial Division rivals from Big Spring
yesterday.
The boys team had some outstanding
performances, with 36 Career Best Times/Scores, a Career First swim and a
few Season Best and In-Season Best times! Despite our best efforts,
the very capable Bulldogs came away with the win, 116-67. The boys
record now stands at 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the division. I am not
concerned about those records. They do not reflect the pursuit of
excellence you exhibit day after day, meet after meet!
Our
girls posted 18 Career Best Times, a Career First swim and some Season
Best Times as well, on our way to recording our third win of the season,
120-63. The girls are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the division.
I
want to thank those swimmers I asked, at the last minute, to stand in
for their sick teammates. It was a tremendous display of teamwork,
sportsmanship and selflessness.
Our next meet isn't until Tuesday, Jan. 5th when we travel to James Buchanan High School for a 4:30 PM
Colonial Division meet against the host Rockets. Unfortunately, their
pool is not able to support diving, so our divers will return to action
on Friday, Jan. 8th when we host Palmyra in a non-division contest.
