Despite our having a significant number of girls team members
sidelined with, or affected by, illness, we still recorded 11 Career
Best Times, 3 Season Best Times and 4 Career New Times, on the way to a
commanding 103-66 Colonial Division win. The outcome moved our overall
record to 4-0 and our division record to 3-0.
The
boys team posted their first win of the season, by an impressive score
of 109-50! You recorded 16 Career Best Times and 4 Season Best Times.
For the first time I can remember in the fourteen years our program has
been in existence, our boys team prevailed by not only having some
faster swims, but by filling all the lanes in every event! The size,
and capabilities, of our boys roster really made the difference. So, to
all the new swimmers....thank you, for coming out and sticking with
it! To those who recruited our new swimmers, thank you for caring
enough about the success of the team to reach out to your friends and
convince them to give this "swimming and diving thing" a try.
Our next test is this coming Friday, January 8th, at 5:00 PM
at home against the Cougars of Palmyra. Our girls team lost to them
last year and they only graduated one district-qualifying senior. I
know they'll be wanting to maintain their "bragging rights." Their boys
team is very capable again this year, with no significant losses to
graduation. I would ask you to please encourage your friends to come
out and cheer us on this Friday evening. It would be nice to have the stands filled with a sea of Purple and Black screaming fans!
