History was made yesterday at Cumberland Valley High School. It was
Northern's first ever dual meet against the AAA Eagles. In addition to
being historic, it proved to be memorable as well.
Our
Boys Team posted 30 Career Best Times, 1 Season Best Time and 3 Career
First swims against what is arguably one of the most capable boys teams
in our region. The final score of Cumberland Valley 133, Northern 50
does not, in any way, diminish the many excellent achievements our boys
had in the pool. Our Boys team records now stands at 4-5 Overall and
2-2 in the Colonial Division.
Our AA Girls Team
took on a storied program at one of the biggest AAA schools in the
region and won 102.5 to 83.5!!! This was achieved by a tremendous team
effort, with 10 Career Best Times, 3 In-Season Best Times, and 7 Season
Best Times! In addition, we had some fantastic finishes in key races,
with our swimmers either holding on or coming from behind to prevail or
tie. By way of explanation, the 0.5 points come from a tie for 4th and
5th in the 50 Free. Each team shares the two 4th Place points and one
5th Place point...a total of three points...with each team being awarded
1.5 points. Yesterday's historic win brings the Girls Team's overall
record to 8-1 and our Colonial Division record remains unblemished at
4-0.
Once again, great
job yesterday at CV. We had a number of excellent performances and
learned some important things about ourselves going into the final few
weeks of the season.
Remember...."victory is not final and defeat is not fatal."
