What an exciting weekend of swimming!
Our small, but
tapered(rested) and mighty, boys team of TJ Archuleta, Levi Basom, Nate
Breon, Seth Hawkins and Ethan Spencer posted 10 Career Best Times out of
14 swims, with every boy contributing! An indication of just how fast
the boys were swimming can be found when looking at the results of their
two relays. The Medley Relay team of TJ, Ethan, Seth and Levi
shattered their season-best seed time of 1:51.82 with a blazing
1:48.71. The 200 Free Relay team of Seth, Nate, Levi and Ethan all
posted career best times on the way to a time of 1:36.18, compared to
their seed time of 1:39.52! There were some equally impressive
improvements individually as well. Congratulations boys on a job well
done!
The girls team of Nicole Andrews, Katelyn
Boyce, Alexa Byers, Rachel Eby, Libby Gingrich, Gabby Lodovici, Becca
Luft, Kate Luft, Larissa MacDougall and Caitlynn Weeden made quite a
statement. The girls came out of Day 1 trailing Trinity+CampHill in the
AA team scoring. With determination and confidence on Saturday,
these young ladies spoke with their performances in the pool. Over and
over they improved on their seed time and their seed place, scoring
point after point for the team. In the end, they outscored all of their
AA opponents with 138 points, capturing the Mid Penn Conference AA
Girls Swimming and Diving Championship! Great job, girls! Overall,
they were 7th, with only AAA teams ahead of them. Over Friday and Saturday
the (un-tapered, un-shaved) girls recorded 14 Career Best Times, 6 Best
Times Not Tapered and 1 Season Best Time! Senior Becca Luft, swimming
the 100 Breaststroke for the very last time in her high school career,
made history when she swam to a time of 1:08.20, breaking the School
Record set just last year. Congratulations Becca!
It was an outstanding weekend to be a part of Northern Swimming & Diving.
