Speaking
of doing one's very best in the pursuit of excellence....how about an
incredible 68 Career Best Times! Out of the 34 swims the girls had
yesterday, they posted 29 Career Best Times. That's 85% best times!
The boys also made a statement with 39 best times out of 51 swims, for
76% best times!
There were quite a few trips to the podium yesterday as well.
* The Girls 200 Medley Relay Team of Lauren Eby, Makenna Byers, Mary Secord and Morgan Starliper finished 2nd
* Lauren (3rd) and Mary (4th) went up again for their 200 Freestyle medals
* Makenna was crowned the Champion of the 200 IM!
* Mary was right back up for her 3rd Place in the 50 Free
* Lauren also made a return trip to receive her 5th Place medal in the 500 Free
* The Girls 200 Free Relay team of Morgan, Caitlin Tern, Makenna and Lauren finished in 4th Place
* Our final trip to the podium was made by Makenna when she collected her 2nd Place medal for the 100 Breaststroke
What
a fantastic exclamation point on an already remarkable Northern
Swimming season. And some of the significantly faster times posted
yesterday will make for much more competitive entries for the District
Championships, which I'll be submitting today. As I said in my earlier
communication about Districts, we should find out who has qualified and
is a member of the 2016 District Swimming Team tomorrow and I'll be sure to let you know as soon as I do.
For those swimmers who have wrapped up their season, I look forward to seeing you at the banquet on Saturday, March 26th.
