York Suburban

  • vs York Suburban, December 13th

What's important in life isn't necessarily what happens to us, as much as how we respond to what happens to us.

When we sat down to discuss our Girls Team Goals for the season, we agreed York Suburban would be one of our toughest meets.  Today, against a very fast Trojan team - one of the very best in District III - our girls lost their first dual meet since the 2012-13 season by a score of 101-69.  I know we were extremely tired and sore from training very hard all week.  The hope is we gave each race everything we had.  On this day, they scored more points than we did.  The question is....what are you going to do about it?  How are you going to respond in practice and in our next meet?  Get down on yourself and your teammates and give up... or resolve to work even harder, with more focus and determination than ever and inspire your teammates to do the same?  We will see York Suburban again....at the District Championships.  Our Girls Team record is now 1-0 in the Colonial Division and 1-1 Overall.

The Boys Team won 11 of 12 events and prevailed by a score of 90-85.  The Boys Team record is now 0-1 in the Division and 1-1 Overall.

Across both meets, we had some impressive performances:
    * 9 First Swims - inspiring performances in events in which people competed for the very first time!
    * Many best "in-season" times....meaning during the regular dual meet season and not at the end when you were rested/tapered.
    * 18 Career Best Times!!! (Despite being very tired and sore!)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Remember to hydrate well, eat a balanced diet (lots of complex carbs and protein) and get plenty of rest.

Our next meet is away on Tuesday at our Colonial Division rival, Big Spring High School, starting at 4:15 PM.  Please read my separate email about bringing a toy and/or book in support of the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.

We'll see you at the pool.

    Proudly,

    Coach Resser
